Pumpkin Ribbon Bread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest (optional)
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 beat together cream cheese, sugar, and flour in medium bowl.
  • 2 add egg and mix well.
  • 3 add orange peel and stir. set aside.
  • 4 combine pumpkin, oil, and eggs in large mixing bowl.
  • 5 stir in sugar, salt, cloves, and cinammon and mix well.
  • 6 stir in flour and baking soda.
  • 7 blend in pecans.
  • 8 pour half of the batter inat a greased and floured 9x5 loaf pan.
  • 9 carefully spread cream cheese mixture over batter.
  • 10 add remaining batter and spread to cover cream cheese mixture.
  • 11 bake for 90 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick tests clean.
  • 12 cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes, then remove from pan and let cool on rack.
