Pumpkin Pie With Molasses

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons molasses (unsulfured)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450 degrees f.
  • 2 prick the bottom and sides of the pie crust with a fork and cook on lower shlef in oven until pale golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes, then lower oven temperature to 325 degrees f.
  • 3 meanwhile, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugars, and eggs until smooth.
  • 4 whisk in milk, molasses, spices, vanilla, and salt.
  • 5 pour mixture into the pre-baked pie crust and bake at 325 degrees f until the center is set, about 55 minutes.
  • 6 let cool completely before serving.
