Monastery Of The Angels Pumpkin Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 cups pumpkin, cooked & mashed or 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • walnut halves, for decoration

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 in a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • 3 combine eggs, oil, water, and pumpkin and mix well.
  • 4 stir wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  • 5 add chopped walnuts.
  • 6 turn into three greased 8 x 4-inch loaf pans.
  • 7 top with a few walnut halves.
  • 8 bake for one hour or until a wood pick inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean.
  • 9 cool before removing from the pans.
