Halloween Hermits (chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies)

Ingredients
- Servings: 60
- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (i use fresh, but canned is also good)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) or 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins, i don't like raisins myself, so i don't put them in (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
- 2 in a large bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, eggs, pumpkin and vanilla.
- 3 in a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, allspice and cloves. add dry misture to wet ingredients and mix. stir in chocolate chips, and nuts/raisins if using.
- 4 drop rounded teaspoons full onto a greased cookie sheet.
- 5 bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
